AN EYE FOR THE LADIES

Episode #470 · Written by Milton Lesser · Narrated by Scott Miller

A down-on-his-luck private detective takes the strangest case of his life when an alien asks him to track down his missing wife. What follows is a whirlwind of body-swapping, mistaken identities, and temptation that’s far more complicated than it first appears.

“An Eye for the Ladies” begins as a private detective story and quickly turns into something far stranger. A quiet, rather awkward alien asks a detective to find his missing wife. She has chosen to stay on Earth instead of returning home. The only clue is that she is hiding inside the life of one of several newly married women. The detective accepts. Then he learns that the job requires something new. He must literally step into other men’s lives to find her.

Each jump leads to a new setting, new problems, and new dangers. Some lives are glamorous. Some are messy. Some are funny on the surface but carry real risks underneath. The detective tries to keep control while everything around him spins faster. The story mixes humor with tension and lets the situation play out in bold and surprising ways. Across all of it, the question grows. What would anyone choose, if they could live another life?
